SURFACE processing OF DOORS

White Liune door

Slim white sliding standard door color D3: White NCS 0502-Y (RAL 9010), semi-matt. Painted doors can be ordered with all colors of the color chart on aspecial order.

Gloss:

The effect of gloss on color perception should be taken into consideration. As the luster increases, the saturation of the color increases and at the same time the degree of lightness-darkness changes. Another thing that is affected by the gloss of the paint is the cleanability of the paint. Glossy paints are for flat and abrasion resistant surfaces, matte paints are suitable for uneven surfaces and achieve a smoother finish; also the breathability of the paint is generally better when considered from the inside.

Gloss levels are:

  • Matte (matt) 0...5
  • Dim 6...10
  • Semi-matt 11...35
  • Semi-gloss 36...60
  • Shiny 61...80

The scale indicates the level of light reflection on the surface and the dim surface is the first step to a shiny surface.Shiny and dim paint of the same shade will look different as the shiny surface reflects light and the color is seen deeper and darker.

Coated doors

The smooth and flat surface of the interior door material is well suited to achieve a high quality finish. In addition to painted and glass doors, the Liune Door range includes coated doors such as:

  • veneered doors
  • laminated doors
  • varnished doors
  • print doors

Varnished doors

Our carpenters make beautiful wood doors for Liune. In our collection from oak, pine, walnut or birch veneer. The opaque treatment protects and highlights the natural beautiful surface of the wood.

In lacquer treatments, the wood surface can be brought out in different degrees of gloss and lacquer gives extra protection to the door surface. We recommend lacquer for doors that are subject to heavy wear and tear such as children's rooms or areas exposed to moisture such as doors close to a balcony. The lacquer surface is applied on top of the opacifier.

The specific shade of the wood to be lacquered influences the end result;the pine is more yellow in color than the birch, and the yellowing intensifies with light over time.
